Hi all, I applied for dla in April and after being turned down twice went to appeal and found out this morning I have been awarded low rate care. I chased it up last week and they were waiting for replies from my gp and consultant so I managed to fax across the reports and they made a decision!

Really pleased but all this could have been avoided if they had written to them in the first place? Or am I using logic again?

Well done Heather !!
at last .. well that's a nice little xmas pressie , nearly £500 in backdated payments to April :)
The whole benefits system is a chore , and normally on top of all the other grief that goes with illness :( at least you didn't have to go through the extra wait, inconvenience of a Tribunal .. :)

thanks everyone, I was really pleased as I was dreading the thought of a possible tribunal. Just got to wait to get the letter to find out how long they have awarded it for.
